Tanzania Code Club is the committed club which deals with educating young children with the ages of 10 to 18 years. This non profit unity is commited to teach both male and female
students all basic computing skills including simple programming languages which will help them to build their own websites. Club sessions are scheduled for not more than 2 hours per week.
The method used is to move from school to school which has computer laboratories. Training interested teachers is also another technique for them to continue with club activities from that
school. We are planning to reach more schools in Shinyanga Municipality but for 6 months we will be dealing with only two nearby secondary schools which is Uhuru and Mwasele Secondary
schools due to financial challenge to support transportation.
Why should children learn to code?
Coding is thinking, code is learning and code is the future. Coding develops analytical thinking during the process of solving problems,
therefore young age students will have skills of solving problems they face in their living society. Also computer skills will play a role in their
hobbies and careers such as becoming digital doctors, digital engineers, digital artists, digital teachers/trainers and more.
